Suggested Octane Question

I know that the Cobalt 2.2 Ecotec engine is tuned for 87 octane. The only question I have is I live in Phoenix Arizona and the temperatures are constantly above 100 degrees. Would I benefit from running 89 octane to gain a bit more power and MPG?

Won't gain power, won't give better mpg, also won't hurt your car

Nothing for the 2.2/2.4. Cars get better mileage when they're at operating temp and the 2.2/2.4 will not have heat soak problems unless boosted

all cars run better at operating temp. but 220 is on the high side. how often do you see over 220

I've put 94 octane on two occasions (station was out of regular, selling the super go-go juice at the same price to compensate) and all I ever noticed was that the car warmed up quicker, which was nice because Canadian winters make you shake like a French soldier.
