after market head unit

Hey guys I have a 07 cobalt LT and im trying to put an aftermarket deck in....I directed the wires cause I didn't want to get that stupid $150 harness...everything works like it all lights up and subs work but there is no sounds coming from my speakers...I doubled checked my connections and their all buddy said there's an amp that I have to bypass or somthing....can someone help me out here?

Just buy the stupid $150 harness. It makes the install a breeze. This is what I did and everything worked the first time I powered the radio on. Just my $.02.

Unless you have the upgraded system (tweeters and a sub) then it should be amplified by the radio. This is how my 08 is anyway and I think the 07 and 08 are close to being the same in this aspect. I also had to buy the stupid $100 harness. I would recommend as CobaltDriver07 has. Too much can go wrong if you connect to the wrong wires. Did you use a straight wire harness or cut the wires? If you used a harness, which one?
