factory xm tuner question s

hello,
im a new member, i do not have a cobalt, but i currently am doing a project with a gm radio out of a 2007 cobalt.
it is a xm ready version with the cat button on it.

i plan on installing it in my car along with xm.

my question is, i know the factory xm tuner is located near the back seats by the rear speakers, now how does this tuner connect to the factory cd player?

does it intercept the factory harness some how and plug into them and then have a plug that plugs into the back of the cd player?/

this is where im stuck on this.

also another question is, are all the factory xm tuners interchangeable?

thanks again all

i believe it has it's own harness that plugs in to the back of the factory deck.

but where?

this is the back of a non base model cobalt radio, that is xm ready

from what i understand there is 2 connectors on the back, one for your power and the other for the speakers correct?

or is there one harness for the power and speakers together and the other harness is for the xm??

thanks

but if your radio has the CAT button then it is XM ready, also all radios look like this from GM in the back, malibu, impala all 07 and up if you look them up on ebay.

im just trying to figure out how the tuner is hooked up.

also please more info button led color change, how did you do it? what colors did you change them too"?
