haha cuz me and a friend did, wow took forever to get it working. at first we couldnt get power to the radio at all.

but we figured out it was becuase the red wire coming from the radio, didnt go anywhere once it was plugged into the harness. so we ended wiring it with the yellow wires the carry current, but those were constant power and the thing wouldnt shut off even when teh key was out.

so we wired the thing into some wire where all my fuses were. and after about 2 hours, it worked! then there was no power to anything inside the car. the headlights turned on, but the car wouldnt even start, we drained the battery.

but the radio works!!

did you not use a wiring harness....? sounds like you hardwired it in..which is dangerous ESPECIALLY if you dont know what you're doing.

yea we used a harness. its just that the red wire that comes from the radio didnt go anywhere. theres not a red wire on our car harnesses. so we plugged it into the yellow wires, but those were constant. so we went to the fuses, found the green wire which is an auxilary wire, and bypassed it into there with some speaker wire.

my friend works at best buy and they had to do the same thing to his g5, he just copied it all with my cobalt.

When I installed mine I had a hard time, I bought the harness, and when I hooked it up I would have the car running and when I turned the car off and pulled the key out the engine would stay running until I opened the door, turns out I had a wire hooked up wrong and I had to run another accessory wire, tapped it into the windshield wiper fuse.

yep buddy that red wire is the 12v+ wire. It is what provides power to your radio. Hooking it to that yellow wire was giving it constant power because that yellow wire has constant power. The option used most is tapping the windshield wiper fuse that way you only have power with the key in the "on" position. you could've saved a lot of hassle searchin or askin the forum lol
