Door Speaker Help Needed.

Hi all,
My driver side door speaker keeps going out on me. Someone told me it might be the speaker coil is cracked or broken. If that is the case how do I change it?

I have a 2006 Chevy Cobalt LS.

Any help will be appreciated.

Carlos

Well if thats so your speaker coil or AKA Voice Coil would not work. Check your wiring maybe have a splice somewhere either that or your speaker is about to blow. Blown speakers will not play at all or cut in and out sometimes

The same thing happened to mine. I took it out and hooked it up on my radio in the house and it worked fine. But i put a new speaker in the door and it worked. So i would say just replace it and i wouldn't think you will have any problems after that.

Yup! If you are taking out the stockers just to see if they work or not, and you have some $, just get new ones. I mean really...you're half way there anyways, might as well finish the job and have good results.
