Amp Issue

so i just went out today and got a kenwood 1000w 2 channel amplifier. I hooled it up to where I had my 400w 4 channel amp and the amp will turn on for a split second then nothing. Am I missing something? any possibilities?

could be a bad ground. where'd you hook up your ground? got pics?

I have it hooked right underneath where the back bench connects to the car. sorry none right now

could it even possibly be the wires themselves? I think they are only rated at 600watts and as far as I know the rms on that could be to low to provide constant power? because the ground has worked fine.

add a relay and maybe a capacitor... Sounds like it's too much power and isn't getting to voltage it needs to stay on

Just an update, I went and bought a 1200watt wiring system, and it worked after that so I'm guessing it was that. because my original was rated at 680. 8g wire to 6g
