Is There a Way to Add an Aux Output to an 06 with XM?

In the process of upgrading my speakers on my factory amped pioneer system in my 06 SS/NA, using all JBL GTO 2ohm speakers...

GTO628 | 6-1/2" 2-way loudspeaker | JBL US
GTO928 | 6" x 9" 2-way multi-element loudspeaker | JBL US

sound quality is fantastic on these with the factory amp, however with only a few radio stations to choose from on this lame head unit, leaves alot to be desired on what i can actually listen to. No way in hell im paying 200 a year for XM radio, unless i decide to move into my car as a permanent residence. Rather then spending a couple hundred bucks with harness adapters and modules to retain the steering controls, i had heard about an option to add an aux output to this setup using the XM band system, although I have no idea how to do this and I have been hard pressed to find anything related to the cobalt on how to do it as well, other cars yes, but not this car.
