How Do I Make My Subwoofer Work with My Stock Radio?

I am buying two 10 in subwoofers from polk and i wanted to know if there is an adapter i can buy to make it work with my factory radio or however i can get it to work with it. I dont know anything about amps wiring and stuff, a friend is going to install it for me. I have already had the 4 speakers inside the car upgraded to better sounding speajers. Also suggestions on amps would be helpful.

These are the speakers im buying. I listened to them at frys, they sound very good.

i just did this this weekend. i picked up the line out converter from walmart (20$) hooked it up to my rear speakers feed. used the power, ground and remote wire from the amp. for the remote wire i used a fuse tap on my sunroof (i dont have a sunroof) fuse. any 12v swiched ignition 12v feed will work. the converter has a nice little remote wire with it to adjust the levels so i can turn it down when the kids are in the car. ill let other guys chime in on amps, im kinda partial to pioneer amps.

x2 on the LOC.

These cars are great for installing amps due to the battery being in the trunk. Just make sure your friend knows what they are doing. Back when I used to do installs we saw some crazy stupid stuff when people would bring their problems to us... wrong gauge wiring kits, no fuses, etc.

As for amps, I'm partial to alpine. There are a number of factors to consider when choosing an amp and how it's wired to the subs. Take a look at some of these guides and post back with questions. Hopefully we can steer you in the right direction.

I too have the Line Out Kit, sounds great too, but only pumping out a whopping 250 watts to a single 12". Maybe low on sound, but I like balance and clarity when hearing tunes.
