PLX Dm-100 Multi-gauge Help!

Hey everyone, Im not to sure if this is in the right category so I apologize if it is not.

I recently purchased a PLX DM-100 Universal OLED touchscreen for my 2007 balt, it came with a cigarette lighter power cord to power the gauge, and also a hardwired power cord.

I have set my gauge up with just the cigarette lighter power, but I seem to get radio interference with it set up this way. so im looking to hard wire it up instead. I know you have to wire it up to an ignition power line so that it only takes power when the car is running, but I literally have not the slightest clue as to which wire this would be?
Im assuming it is located under the steering wheel somewhere, but im not about to guess. If anyone has any type of wiring guide or any helpful tips/comments that can help me out here it would be greatly appreciated!

It will be pink. You can access it either from C4 pin E6,F4,F5,F6,F9 on the back side of the BCM driver's side.



or on the BCM passenger's side A8, D6, D7

Would you recommend I cut the wire and connect the power to it. Or would it be ok to attach my power wire to it by crimping with one of those plastic crimpers, avoiding the cut?

And sorry lastly, what would be a close ground for me to connect to around there?

I would pull the pin and solder the wire directly on the crimp part of the pin and re-assemble. Remove C3 (always disconnect battery first when doing electrical (Trust me on this one)) just the center nut holds it in place. C3 is the big pink connector in the middle. Pin out is A1 through A12 left to right at the bottom and D row is at the top. PIN A10 shown here for reference.


If I were you to alleviate any problems down the line I would solder right to the pin. Like in this picture...



Just un-clip the blue comb (shown here top right corner)and pull out the wire you need to solder to then re-assemble for a nice clean job.



You can use the nut in the lower left corner for a ground.

Just writing to say everything went smoothly, and my gauge is installed /working
thank you for all your advice and help! Now time for me to figure out what all these gauge readings are haha

It does work good! I just wish I was more technically inclined so I could understand what all of the readings mean
