Subwoofer wiring help.

I need to know what size wire to use on my amp and inside of the subwoofer enclosure. My amp is within 4 feet of my battery.

May I ask why you suggest those sizes? I'm actually curious how to figure it out for future reference. I think the power cables on it now are 8 ga but are like 25 feet long but my battery is only 4 feet away. Does that matter that they are that long? Also what size wire from the amp to the sub?

I just ran 12 gauge though out. 8 gauge for power
