Replacing 2005 Cobalt Stock radio

Hi, I am looking to replace my 2005 cobalt radio. If I buy a stock radio from a 2007 cobalt, would that work? I'm wanting a radio with aux compatibility/ a newer look.

Thanks.

Supposedly it will not work. For your car only 05 and 06 will work because 07 and up is pinned differently. Plus, even then you would need to go to the dealer to have them unlock it and change it to work with your car.

I believe raincrusader did it to his Cobalt and I know it was a tad complicated but it worked in the end. Maybe he'll chime in or you could PM him.
