Aftermarket Cd Player Install 05 Base Coupe

My stock cd player (aka receiver) does not eject very well and the buttons are getting bad. I'm considering installing an aftermarket receiver. I've heard various warnings that one could lose chimes and/or info center. Do I need to consider this for an 05? Also do you think I would need to run any wires (eg. constant power?) from the new receiver into the cabin fuse box?

It might just be easier to get a used stock receiver in good condition being that I wont be powering any subs or amps.

How did this go? I have an 05 as well and want to upgrade my stereo and have heard all the stories about loss of fuctiona. Don't care if I lose chimes. How did the install go? Did u just run the power from the head u it to the fuse box and use a cheap harness to connect to the car? Or did u spend the $100 on the interface and then hook up?

I just replaced my sound system in my 05 base sedan and it went well. I got everything I needed to keep functionality and chimes through crutchfield. To wire up the adapter, remove and install all speakers and head unit took about 4 hours. It was my first time doing something like this and I did it in stages. Hope this helps. There was a separate unit that plugged into the wiring harness that was specific for the chimes.
