If you want it to sound reasonably well, you dont need to break the bank.
You could try these

They work well with my stock setup in the doors and they make a matching set for the rears.

Now if you want to rock the entire block....well....they may not be your best bet.
Yet for $20.00 a pair...they (Boss CH6530 6.5-Inch with CH4630 4x6-Inch Speakers) beat the blown stock speakers hands down

All depends on how much you want to spend.

Obviously components will be better, but you can get some real solid coaxials, too. Again - all depends on your budget.

Do you plan to (or have you already) replace the 6x9s, as well?

Since you already have those, I'd recommend matching the front speakers to those - and since those are "last model year" of the Alpine Type-S, you may have some luck on ebay finding that same "generation" of speaker for the front - I would say either the SPS-600 or SPS-600C. The latter is the component setup, which obviously is better, but would require slightly more work to install. I'm sure the options for lightly used or new are plentiful.

Otherwise, the current generation (which should, in theory, still be timbre matched well enough) are the SPS-610 and the SPS-610C.

Ok, I might be looking for some Alpine 6.5's then. Where would be the best place to mount the tweeters? In front of the door latches?

I have mine mounted on the mirror flags

In front of the latch (assuming the tweets have a mount that will account for the surface being curved) may be better if the tweeters aren't crazy loud - but mine are exceptionally loud and bright, so having them diffused a little bit definitely helps.
