prob upon acceleration...

ok....hopeifully its just my imagination, but upon hard acceleration my 06 2.2 5sp seems to be starveing for something??? when i start to let off the gas its like a bost in power....it dont make sense. i dont know if its in the spark, air, or gas...the car has 55,000 miles with the stock airbox but i replace from the airbox to the tb with intake pipe. the plugs are stock...for now. any ideas on this? i also noticed a slight miss upon easy acceleration also....thanx in advanced

i have the same EXACT problem! im going to take it to the dealer. When i let off the gas the rpms go up quickly then drop. i dont get it. Also when i shift gear into like 4th, the rpms will drop to 2k and wont go up, i will press more on the gas and the car will accelerate more, but the rpms dont move.

Also when i have cruise control on, ill be cruising at lets say 65, if i push on the gas to accelerate, therpms will drop from like 2500 to like 1800 and the engine will make a real deep tone. IDN WTF is up with that.

i get my oil changed every 3k miles, and got a new air filter. Maybe it needs a tune up or fuel injectors need to be cleaned, idn.

How many miles are on your car, im a 2.2 auto with 33k. Maybe theirs some special service that needs to be done at 30k miles?

my cars throttle response is shot, i used to tap the gas and the car would go, not any more.and sometimes when i push the gas to accelerate it like jumps and doest go then jumps, maybe like it didnt downshift or something, idn its ****in weird and pisses me off.

i just dropped my car off at the dealership yesterday.(cv boot) and the service manager asked me if id had my 30,000 mile check. i asked what it entailed, and all i remember is something about injectors, and tranny. (im 5 spd) i just blew him off cause i figured he was just trying to sell me something, and my car still runs great. but maybe something to it?

mine is a 5sp....i hit the gas the rpms do go up but not like it should...like i said its like its starveing for something...being held back...i run injector cleaner in it every so often. and change the oil round 4000 miles with synthetic....the only thing i could think of is plugs...i know there suposed to be good for 100,000 miles...but they could go bad...or even the gap on em could be off....hmmmmm something to check this weekend
