Angry Someone Hit My Wifes Cobalt, with Pics

So my wife went out to lunch with her sister yesterday and left her cobalt parked in front of her house, and when she got back there were some nasty scratches on the bumper from someone hitting it. No notes on the car or house saying someone hit it either :(

So she filed a police report for a hit and run, it looked like it was probably the neighbor that hit it when backing out of their driveway so the cop left a note on there door saying that they thought they might be involved in a hit and run in front of their house and they needed to call the police and let them know what happened.

So last night we got a call back from the cop. They lady called him back and admitted to hitting the car, but its kind of a funny story.

It turns out that the neighbor on the other side of the street has the same color cobalt so she thought it was his car she hit. She was late for work and it a hurry and scrapped the bumper of my wifes car when leaving with her company car.

She didn't see any damage looking out the window at it so she figured she'd just go to work and tell her neighbor after work to let him know.

So when she got back from work she stopped by the neighbors house and told him, and of course he didn't see any damage to his car so he didn't care. LOL Then when she got to her house she seen the hit and run note and called the cop and he told her that it was a different car she hit.

So now we got a new police report made up and will have to call our insurance company. The bumper isn't dented up at all, just nice and scratched up, and some chunks of plastic scrapped out. There are also some nice deep scratches in the rear quarter panel. We'll see what the insurance company decides to do.

Here a few pics:

Talk to you all later

Hopefully your having a better weekend..... LOL

Bummer about the car, bu that is why I refuse to park in the street. Unless it is my truck then the other person will be seriously hurting.

Glad you found out who hit and be glad that it will be taken care of. It could have happened in a parking lot then you would be sol for getting it fixed on someone elses dime.
