Body Question HELP!!!

Alright i have an 05 cobalt ss/sc and the rear bumper cover on warm days expands out on the sides of the car (like bows out) then when it cools down weather wise is shrinks back down.......but now its done it so many times the paint is starting to chip because of it going in an out and rubbing........anyone have any ideas kinda bothering me

2005 Cobalt SS/SC
K&N Typhoon intake
Virbrant header back stainless exhaust
ZZP 2.8 pulley
ZZP heat exchanger dual pass
ZZP stage three ECU
ZZP Stage three 60lb injectors
Stiffy mounts
1'' drop

Well...its kind of hard to keep these bumpers from doing this. The best thing I can tell you is to get it repainted.

Yea im still completing my certificate in Auto body in college but plastic is known for this! i would talk to someones at a body shop and see what they say!

the most common cause of this is the bumper not being secured well enough .. if properly secured the bumper wont move anymore than anyother part... now of course plastic parts do flex in different temps but shouldnt do what you say unless something holding the bumper is either broken or missing...it would take alot more than some temp changes to bow them out enough to notice...

it apprears to be that way....its almost as if the clips are missing or something you know? i could take pics i guess and show you all what im talking about if thats any help

it's not fastened on that part of the bumper, just slid into slots. mine does this year round. it's honestly just gm being cheap. shoulda bought a euro what can I say

you could buy an aftermarket fiberglass bumper, that won't flex at all

well a friend and i both have cobalts so were going to try and find a fix to this once and for all....... if its a sucess ill explain how i did it in the diy
