Difference Between the Sport and SS/NA?

So this comes up every so often espicially when someone mentions they are going to badge their Sport as an SS because "they are practically the same thing". This always leads to someone saying "No they're not!" That's usually where it ends. Now obviously the biggest difference is the fact that GM took the SS badge away, but when they did that was there any change between the two vehicles besides this?

Mods: debaged, carbon fiber hood, painted interior trim, lowered

being a Chevy etc.. Ive seen them both inside and under... and theres really no diffrence to them...im not sure y Chevy made the switch with the badges... id like to know tho.. but from what i can tell.. there basicly the same car

sept of course.. the Vin on the sport will never come back as an "SS/NA".. so if Ive got a sport..itll never be documented as the same car as the "SS/NA"

mods... tinted taillights, 1000 watt alpine mono amp, 2 10 inch alpine type "r" subs, basspro slot ported box, xm radio, alpine 6x9 rear speekers, alpine 6.5 front speekers (both type "s",09SS front bumper and lip, black factory headlights, 12k foglights, 10k headlights, slp catback,fe5 suspension with sportlines, black carpet, painted plastics (black) huge custom pink monster sticker... and ofcourse.... BLACKED OUT!

i think they changed it cuz they realized its not an ss. ss stands for super sport, as in like top of the line. they badged it as a "sport" afterwards cuz its just that, a sportier cobalt, but not an ss.

There were laso many new regs being fought up on Capitol Hill about vehicles and safety, before, during, after and now about vehiclular safety. The safety Nazis think any vehicle with any type of "SS" or similar label in inherently dangerous and uses more gas.

Well I'm a Sport guy so I'm allowed to ask! Whenever the arguement comes up someone always claims there's some kind of mechanical difference or some but never says what. I just wondered if there really was anything different. I think Sport was a better badging anyway, if anything they shoulda called it a Z24 Cobalt! lol.
