Quick Question About Jumping a Car Using My 05 Cobalt

So my wife's Focus is dead and I need to jump it.

I am use to hooking up the positive and negative jumpers to the pos & negative terminals on the donor car and then the positive jumper to dead car pos terminal and neg. to engine block.

I know of the Pos. post on my cobalt but not sure where the neg. one is.

If there isnt one, then how do I hook up the cables correctly?

Do i put pos. on cobalt battery, neg. on cobalt engine, postive on dead focus batter, neg on dead focus engine?

I no longer use my car to jump anyone unless its a must have too. Not after it killed my battery back when I helped someone in my lincoln. Most cases you well be fine but I won't be stuck at a gas station again after jumping someone and going to get some petrol and than not having my car start and waiting for my jumper box to be brought to me and than having to shell out a 100 for a new bat.

I may have a weird car, but you have to jump a car directly from the battery. I have tried numerous times to use my car and utilize the underhood point, but each time I had to pop the trunk and go right off the battery.

use a jumper pack. you're never supposed to jump a car with another car. not a big deal, but try not to do it if you can.
