Went to Walmart for a Batter And...

I was looking at the redtop optima batteries, and according to the book there is no optima red top battery for the 2005 to 2010 Chevy Colbalt!

Why is that? And my car doesnt have a warranty anymore.

So there is no optima battery that will fit? I've hear that there has to be a special battery so it could vent properly.

An Optima does not have to vent due to the gel interior. It can be mounted in any position also. Go to a true autoparts store if you want a quality battery like the Optima.

The reason it doesn't fit its because our cars need a vented battery.

The car doesn't need a vented battery to run does it? So the optimia wont strap in? Or what?

Optimas doent need to be vented as they have a gel interior as opposed to the lead acid type that need vented. Optimas were designed for trunk mounted applications years ago, mainly that of drage racers who need a better weight distibution.

You're close...... Optima batteries DO HAVE BATTERY ACID in them just like
any other battery does, ITS NOT GEL ! It is called AGM (Absorbed Glass Mat)
The acid is absorbed into a glass mat, hence no spill or gases.

NO..... But a regular battery emits gases and need to be vented outside the car since its in the trunk (passenger compartment)
