Question Remote Door Opener

I have a factory Remote door opener and the remote works, but the dealer tells me it the receiver in the car what can i do to fix it? It a 2006 Cobalt LT

I think my receiver is going bad as well. Sometimes keyless entry works, sometimes I have to push the button for ten minutes to get it to work. I wish I knew how to fix it.

Dealer's probably looking to make more cash by checking out your reciever, check the battery. If not, I don't really know what to tell you except that it might be a programming error.

I thought it was the battery at first, but it's been going on for at least 6 months. Is it possible for us to open it and change the battery? I'll definitely try it, I just didn't think we could open the remote.

mine's doing the same thing(but it's practically new). if you get it working, lemme know what it was

pop open your remote, check the connection between the battery and the internals (its a metal prong about 2 mm thick) and mine came loose from the battery causing it to be spacey...instead of spending the $100 for a new one stuffed paper in it to make the prong stay and has worked perfectly since

just replaced the battery. I think it is the reciever in the car, hay thnaks for all your help.......
