Need Help

Car got hit last week while I had it parked by my job. The rear bumper on the right side, under the gas lid. Right where the it connects to the the rear panel got cracked. Do you guys know if insurance covers it? Or is it not worth it. Oh the bad thing is that this happened last week. Does it matter? Thanks

Yea insurance will cover that, and if its only cracked then a body shop could fix it.

But yu may have to pay a deductible.

Crap. Do I have to file a police report in order for insurance to cover it?

no one knows when it happend! so just tell the cop it just happened when you file a report lmao that what ive done.. but yeah depending on your insurance deductible you might pay outta pocket and might not even need the insurance coverage.. i would find out your deductable and check with your local body shop a price and see if you can use it.. otherwise youll file a claim and not even use them.. they'll still jack you up in price lmao

Its cheaper to have it fixed on your own.... Mine got rear ended and I got a check from the other insurance company for 360.00 to have it fixed. If I would have been at fault or a hit and run I would have to come out of pocket for the deductible. Which you will have to also. I say just get it done on your own. Also depends on how your insurance company takes it. They might raise your insurance. You will also have a CARFAX infraction if you go through your insurance company as being in a wreck, which will lower the cars value!

a police report is not always necessary to file a claim with your insurance. I have filled without a police report on minor issues such as you describe. Even a window chip that went months before filing the claim. just be as honest as you can even if you dont know exactly what happened.

in your case it sounds its a minor hit and run case. Your insurance should take care of it.

the last thing you want is to have your insurance catch you in a lie.

Hmm I guess I'll take care of it on my own. I do have some plans for it too already. Imma try o get me another used ss sedan bumper. I was able to pick up a lower valance from the 2.4 coupes. U know the dark gray piece that has to be removed when u install a lip. I've never seen one for sale and I picked it up for mad cheap fom schram. It goes for $200 and I got it for 45 bucks.

X2.

YOU DON'T WANT your insurance to get higher because with them you save $100 on the fix.
