How to Set the Alarm Properly?

there has been car break ins near my area and i was wondering what is the best way to set the alarm? passive , rxe (spelling)? now i do know that an alarm is one way to protect my self. the car has the stock keyless entry alarm? it seems that they are using slim jims to get in.

I dont think it will.. The stock alarms suck. Even if it does go off most people wouldnt even be able to hear the POS

the alarm goes off when you use the key, so using a slim jim should set the alarm off, and yes our alarms do suck. that's why i am looking at getting a upgrade this summer because the stock one goes off when i remote start my car

It depends on what you want to protect. if you are protecting the car from being taken, you want something that will disable the engine to prevent it from being started.

if you are trying to protect the contents then theres not much you can do with any alarm.

In the End a determined thief will take what they want no matter what alarm you have. The trick is to remove the temptation for a would be thief and to have them move onto an easier more worthwhile target.
