be close, probably the protege would get the lead on go for about .01 secs but cobalt would catch up no problem. Mazda specs: http://www.internetautoguide.com/car...ege/index.html

A Mazdaspeed Protege will whip a 2.2, but even a bone stock SC will be in the next time zone before the Mazda driver knows what happened.

the msp has 170 WHP... my 09 2.2 has stock 155, air intake 162 easy...it would be close, considering the msp is like 9 years old (owner may not have taken care of it) and there may be weight difference. Point is it's do-able :P

no, MSPs have 170 crank HP, like 145whp give or take a few hps up or down, They only have 6lbs of boost, anything over 8psi and say goodbye to motor as mazda just slapped the turbo on there and did no reinforcing and such for boost. I know, my bro never shuts up about the damn car lol

But this protege is just the 105hp, 107tq model they are talking about, I think an Aveo could take one lol

Why does it matter? Race and find out.

My turbo lag is your courtesy head start.
