Engine Heat Hood Insulation

Does anyone have the hood insulation on the 2009 SS Coupe ?

To keep the engine heat from discoloring the top of the hood paint ?

Seems some have it and some dont....

They added it to my HHR SS under warranty

What do you guys have ?

the turbo balts don't have them.. I was under the impression they don't clear the hot side boost tube over time.

Interesting because Chevy sells an 'SS' insulator which appears to be the same as the non-SS stock one.

No, it says SS, so it adds 50HP.

Yeah, it's more than likely the same.

But if you notice in that pic that is a NA motor, not a boosted. So I'm sure you'd be worrying about fire if you got the insulation on a Turbo model.
