Call your Dealer. As far as we know they have not released Specific details on it yet.

I have gone to the dealer they had a list of vin numbers, but just took mine down and my phone number and said they will phone me if anything comes up.

I am not the original owner , but the service lady said that she is sure if there is ever any recalls it would be traced to me from the licence plate.

WTF! Thats not good I just bought my cobalt over the weekend on the expectation that the repair would not take more then 2 weeks. For some dumbass reason I could buy the car but not take it home. If I have to wait longer I'm in trouble as I cannot afford my lease payment on my old car a the loan payment on my new one.
GM better get its shit straight and quick. How can you let someone buy a car and not be able to leave the dealer with it.

the car salesman didn't care...they just made some money. Of all the people in the world, IMO, never trust a car salesman. get it in writing. I feel grimmy just walking on a lot. They'll do/say anything to get you to sign the paperwork.

The cars on the lots will be fixed first. They should not take long due to the fact that none of them can be sold except those made AFTER Feb 2009

Is there anything different on those made after 2/09? From what I heard even 2010 models are affected by the recall. I expect I should get a notice at some point, probably later rather than sooner since the problem creeps up after 30000 miles or so and mine is fresh off the lot.
