So My Boss Backed into My Cobalt in Our Work Parking Lot.

So as the title states last night my boss backed into my car with his truck. Got some quotes today and they range from $6000-$7000 to repair it. He scrapped my drives side door and bent it in so it needs a new skin. Also the panel right behind the door is dented in very badly and needs to be replaced according to 4 out of the 5 shops that I went to. The 5th shop said that they could get the dent out and save the panel. Boss is paying for the repairs himself to stop his rates from going through the roof ( he's wrote off a car and his wife damaged another one in the last 3 months ). So looks like I am going to be without my Balt for about 2 weeks when I take it in :(. On the plus side though he's paying for a rental for me that I get to pick out, so hopefully I can get something half nice for the 2 weeks.

That sucks but at least your boss is paying for everything.

You should ask a raise also for that.

I'm glad to hear that he is taking care of everything. On a side note I find it truly amazing what body shops charge these days for repairs.

its all about commission... same reason why mechanics at dealerships don't want to tell their bosses to cover the work under warranty... bigger commission for non-warranty work..

He was driving a Chevy Avalanche. Not a scratch left on his truck. As for the raise that may be out of the question but next set of hockey tickets that he has to give away I am thinking they end up in my hands. As for the shop the one I decided to go with quoted me at $5700 and told me they would supply a rental for free. However when my boss called to pay for it with his credit card they said that the price could go up by 30% (which would make it about $7400) and that the rental would cost $35 a day, which would end up costing about $500 for the 2 weeks my car was in the shop. So Monday I have to go down to the shop and try and sort out why they are telling me one thing and then 5 minutes later telling my boss something completely different.
