Dropped Change Underneath Shifter

Hi. Well I was cleaning my car and decided to put my short shift back on but in the process i dropped a bit of change underneath the shift boot and it fell underneath the shifter. Now i have no way to get at it. If I lift the shift boot I can slide a finger in the small space at the bottom but not enough to grab it by hand. I also have this magnetic thing on the end of a flexible wire I was trying and I could hear it grabbing the change but as i go to pull it out, the space is so tight that the change just falls back right off.

I was wondering whats the next step? I guess I will have to remove the whole shifter?? Or remove a side panel from the shifter to get in there?

I am afraid that leaving it in there for a while could cause my shifter to block up at a certain point or something.
