Suggested Required Basic Maintenace for First 15000 Miles ?

ok, this is a retarded question, but i just wanted to hear from yourcobalt readers if i need to do anything on my brand new cobalt xfe (all manual) for the first 15000 miles, other than the following:

1) change oil and oil filter every 3000 miles
2) check and maintain all fluids
3) check and maintain tire pressure

I read the booklet, but just wanted to hear/confirm from you guys/gals. My cobalt (bought new in 2009) has only 1500 miles now and i want to change the oil/filter myself and not bother with the dealership. So far I have ignored their letters and warnings regarding the "MUST HAVE OR ELSE" regular visits to them. Balt is running like a charm so far, and i'm sort of applying the principle -"if it ain't broke - don't fix it". Regarding the steering recall, i'll do it one day, but for now, i'm happy with the things as they are.

Much appreciated

I suppose you could check your air filters if you really wanted to. Other than that, tear it up until 40K!

Send a message via Yahoo to finnscobalt
Check the owners manual. That covers all required maintenance.
