Leaking Again!!!!

So it's been raining today and for the 3rd time the rear carpet between seats (passenger side) is seaping. Yeah same spot.

1st attempt: Had upper strip replaced
2nd attempt: Had all weather strips both sides (inc. door surrounds) replaced

So what else would cause this leak besides strips? I don't have a sunroof but i'm sure they're other drains somewhere. Only thing I could think of is the seal inside the door panel even though the "stock" speaker is working. Oh well time for another trip to the dealer.

Check the rear window seals. Did you buy the car new or used? Did you get a carfax on it regardless? If new do you still have the window sticker?

Where and how did the car start its life, what part of the country and who had it before you, ie rental?

It was a rental it's 1st year of her life. They bought her new Sept. 2009 before I bought it Aug 2010 with 12k, currently 18k. They're fixing the drian/door seal issue while currently rollin in a 2011 Buick Regal. Seriously the angled dash, dark interior and blue lighting make it look like cockpit. Rental or not, these Balts have similar issues even when bought new.

i've heard of several cobalts having this issue. mine has had it too, i however have a sunroof. i'm really not sure that it matters because i've heard of a lot of LS's having this problem too.

Must be a coupe thing, my sedan does not leak. When you get it back take a good look at the rear window. Look for condition of seal and if any paint on the seal/window. I had a soldier tha tbought an ex rental that was wrecked and had leaks at the rear window, (where it was wrecked).

It was a faulty water deflector inside the door panel. He told me it's common on most GM vehicles (any make too) where water goes in the doors and flood up. 2 other vehicles came by with that issue a G6 and a newer model Sierra.

I guess I am lucky not to have that on the list of issues with mine.

Ok this will be the 4th time i'll be taking it in. It's doing it again the same spot (not as bad) but nonetheless. I can't keep doing this after 20 times what do I do? I might have to agree with you that maybe it was in an accident.

Should I: go to the dealership (Fitzmall) I bought it from and bitch?, Take it to a body shop downtown to have them take a closer look at it before takin it in? Call GM? Can body parts be part of a lemon law?
