Sad That My First Post Here is About This But...

My car was broken into last night. The faceplate for my headunit was stolen (what the hell, really? What will they do with a faceplate?), my ipod, Gps, cash from my wallet and my wallet was taken and left open so they have all my info and i do feel violated.

But i called the cops (not much help, didnt even try to dust for prints on my glove box). But i guess 14 other cars in my neighborhood have been hit,and a few weeks ago mailboxes had been hit too so i would assume its probably the same people.

The funny thing is, i had a brand new alpine type r in the back, the box for it was in the back and they still didnt take it. I dont have the money to replace the stuff though.

I guess most of my time will be spent browsing the local craigslist for areas around here, I am located in sandwich, Il. (if anyone wants to help or is also around here)

But still, it sucks man, first time my car was ever broken into and the damn thing was locked, i guess il invest in a security system, any recomendations?
And another quick question, is it possible for me to buy a new head unit and just take the faceplate from the new one and put it on my old one?

I have an avital remote start and would recommend a security system from them. As for the rest, good luck. I hope you can get your stuff back

This is why I'm glad I never leave my wallet, or any of my valuables in my car.
