New Emmissions Testing Where I Live

So i doubt this effects the cobalt because it's fuel efficient but on the car i used to have before i bent the frame and led me to buying a cobalt it does

In tennessee they're changing the emissions test(the only reason we have it is because in Nashville they have emissions test and they figured out a large amount of people were traveling from my county to Nashville so they enforced emissions test here too)

Well now instead of going to Marta emission testing where they plug into your computer and use a oxygen sensor on your exhaust and you fail if you have a check engine

They're going to place sensors with cameras on the highway it reads your emission level and takes a picture of your car with the license plate and sends you a ticket in the mail if they're too high

I see many many problems with this although ive had cars that could pass the exhaust emission test just fine but had a check engine light and failed

So im not sure how i feel about this although it seems a little like "Big Brother"

but what it typically ends up being is someone with a company that produces these systems knows someone that has power over the laws

It is impossible to test that way. One car could be confused with another car. There is no economical way for that to happen. Having lived in Clarksville, I do not see Nashville or anywhere else in Tn doing that. They do not even do that in California or Colorado..

Those are going to be some expensive sensors to install and all the data inconsistencies that they'll have when two cars run side by side each other.

What a waste of money and an excuse to give a ticket if your just over the limit.

Knowing how the people are in that area (lived there 9 years), it is probably a scare tactic to get people to take better care of their autos.

It could also be a dummy unit to make people think that it actually works.
