Should an '07 LT Have Remote Keyless Entry?

Hi,
I bought my daughter a used '07 Cobalt LT. The car did not come with any remotes. My question is: are all LT's remote capable? How about remote start?

Thanks,

Jim

Jim,
Call the dealership and give them the vin number, they can tell you whether your daughters car came with the factory keyless option. If it did you can purchase a remote through them and they can program it. Factory remote start was not an option.

If your daughters car did not come with the option but has power locks any car have an aftermarket keyless entry installed. If you are interested in a remote start, your best option would be to have an all in one aftermarket remote start/keyless entry system installed. Research DEI products and look for an installer/dealer near you. I have been an installer for almost 15 years now and DEI is the only company I will ever recommend. Lifetime warranty, they are stringent on installer standards and have the best customer service in the business. Their products are a few bucks more than other companies but you get what you pay for and it is well worth it in the end.

DEI or Directed Electronics is the largest manufacture and marketer of vehicle security and remote starters in the word. Most know them as Viper.

Hi Jim, if you PM me your VIN, I can check to see if your daughter’s Cobalt is remote capable.

Thanks,

I would assume if you have power anything in the LT it should have had the remote entry. My 05 came with it as well as other people I know

Look at your door handle. If the handle has factory power locks/power windows, then you should have had a set of RKE remotes. You'll definitely know if you use the power lock to lock the door, then the alarm goes off when you try using the key.
