Dashboard Already Sticky. Is This Common?

Geez, new car ( Colalt LT, sport package, 2010) and plastic dash is already all tacky-sticky like. What happened? I thought this was made from polypropylene. Anybody experience this?

Thanks!

Sounds like they used armor all or black magic which makes the dash all greasy and if not continuously wiped down attracts dirt (and or if they smoke) and then becomes sticky over time. I use meguiars interior dash wipes satin. Leaves dash with a clean non greasy finish. Very light

Just spray goo gone over the whoel dash and let sit, wipe, and then use whichever interior cleaner you prefer to clean it up nice.

yep, sounds like someone or dealer put crap down to make it shine and it did what you say it did. I bought a car from a dealer and they put this crap to make the interior shine and they used so much that the cup holders and alike had a ton of it in them. I always request when getting a car to not have anything other then a vacuum done if at all.

Thanks very much for the feedback. No, no one sprayed gunk on it, unless it was the dealer spraying Armorall, and thats what the stickiness is. I am the original owner. No carpet tack either. I will try first to clean up the crud, then wait a month to see if it comes back. Its not as simple as "just clean it up" as sometimes, the plastic chemicals continue to ooze off and react with air to form gunk.

wont do any good- picture /appearance is same as normal. You have to TOUCH it to feel the crud- it isnt "visible". Its "invisible crud".
