What to Check on a Used Cobalt?

Hey everyone,

Just purchased a stock Cobalt Black SS 2009 LNF with 75k KM on it. I doubt it was stock before but everything was swapped back over prior to being traded in. I changed the oil (5w-30 castrol synthetic) new gear oil, and spark plugs. Its got a tick to it but I am assuming its natural, the front struts squak a bit when hitting bumps but its fairly cold out right now (-15). I also looked at the rotors and pads and they were good.

Anything else I should take a look at or replace?

Thanks

Check the lower control arm bushings. They suck. They last about 15,000 miles.

Alright I'll check those out next time I am in the shop. If I find that they are worn out should I replace them with OEM or are there some good aftermarket ones, speaking for the bushings and the links.

Welcome!

As I had an 09ss I can tell ya what to look for. Keep your eye on the rear rotor guides, they weren't properly lubricated from the factory and will seize causing premature wear on the rear brakes (had to change mine at 18k miles). Also as far as being stock, you can check the tune, how many psi of boost is it running? And as for the ticking, that's your cam driven fuel pump, and that's fine.

Thanks for the welcome. The guides those are what the floating calipers slide on right? Should I pop them out and throw some never seize on them? There just little hollow tubes?

Yes pull them out and put the anti seize on them. Sorry I meant caliper guides not rotor lol. Been a long day today lol.
