Gas Smell/starting Problems

The smell of gas fumes coming from my exhaust/ also having trouble starting after car sits overnight. Installed new battery and it's still doing the same thing. Starts fine after driving a bit which is why I thought it was the battery not holding a charge for longer periods. Any advice?

First of all, welcome!

Have you received a recall letter recently? There's a new one that might be related to your problem. What year is your car?

There's a silent recall regarding leaking fuel pumps. I've linked to the thread below. I would call a dealer, cite the recall and have them look up your vehicle by VIN. You may also PM "ChevyCustSvc" here on the forum and they can look that up for you.

It could also be something else. When was the last time the fuel filter was changed?
