I know that the fuel pump for chevy has been recalled before..

My engine light came on for the second time and its my fuel pump, i have a 2007 cobalt with 35,000 miles on it..

do you think that chevy will replace this for me?

* i can smell gas a lot of times in my car.

To be honest, your best bet is to call in with your VIN and see if you fall under the recall. You probably no longer fall under a warrenty due to the year of the vehicle.

I have an 07 balt ss and just took it in last week, it fell under the special coverage and they replaced it, call your local GM dealer and they should take care of it.

They have sent out letters about "special coverage"
they will warrant all 07 fuel pumps for cracking, regardless of age or miles.
I'm sure this is to the original purchaser though.
