Vent Controls

I hardly ever adjust the vents in my cobalt. The ones to open and close them are just fine, but the wheels to move them side to side are a bit tight. Is there anything I can spray in there to loosen them up? Not sure why this would happen either. I almost thought they were completely seized up, but I had to put a little pressure and they move a bit better, but still not smooth as they could be. Maybe they are built up with dust and crud in there?

Honestly, I think they are all that way. Mine are clean as they day the car rolled off the line and they are the same way.
