Does anyone know what this is?

I have a button that seems to looked rigged. It allows me to release my key from then ignition. Its pulled up and it is by the shifter. (Automatic)

WOuldnt that be that button that allows to you move it in and out of gear with the car off?

There's a button under the steering Column that allows you to release the key from the ignition.

I'll post a picture later today on a computer it won't let me upload one from my phone. And no it's not to move in and out of gears. It releases my key
