2007 Cobalt at 140,000 Miles, How Many More Quality Miles Should I Expect?

I have a 2007 Chevrolet cobalt that I bought new (in 2007). It has about 140,000 miles on it, mostly highway miles (I have made intentional efforts to drive in less bumper to bumper traffic). I haven't had any real problems, except for having to change the battery a year ago and I take it for regular oil changes (typically every 5000-7000 miles).

How many more miles might I expect to get out of my vehicle before it really starts to break down. I have no interest in a car payment anytime soon.

In Florida you can run that easily an other 160,000 miles, since rust is not a factor, your cost average per month will be far less than a car payment . My 07 is getting a front end overhaul but we have road salt that eats everything.

Run her until she dies. Cavaliers in nova Scotia had no problem getting 200k miles so you should be good for a very long time.

I assume he means new sway bar links, bushings, possibly wheel bearings and brakes.

I was never able to find a set of sway bar bushings that wouldn't wear out in a year

Sounds good. This vehicle has been reliable, but it looks like the cobalt was discontinued as when I looked on the chevy website there are no new model cobalt's available.

Twice I called a year apart and twice no dealer in Halifax had them. We're only like $18 but none in stock
