Towing light issues 2006 Cobalt

I had towing package put on my car. Lights have not worked correctly since doing this. I keep losing all lights. After turning the car off and then back on you can here a "click" and lights come back on. Is there a known problem concerning trailor lights? Is something electrical overloading and the car protecting itself?

thats what it soundslike problem a broken or bad ground and when the power has no ground lights will work till fuses or relays get hot the it's like an overload and they shutoff or like fuses pop. look around where the towing wiring is and trace the harness for rub spots or any bare wires.

yeah i mod, it's called having style.......

If you had it put on and you feel it's not working properly, take it back and have them fix it. (this is assuming you had it put on recently).

If not, towing packages unless used very often tend to have the wires corrode, break away, lose what were nice connections, etc. Look at the wires as stated above and make sure all the connections are clean and not eroding away.

YEa. Seems like it would be a bad ground connection , probably loose or not grounded correctly. Check where it is grounded to and tighten it up. Cause if it is working only sometimes more then likely its just that the ground is a lil loose
