Do they go bad? How hard is it to replace?

yep, in the morning 9:30 am it was reading 81 but most of the day it was 68. With the temp in Nevada in the high 90's I find the readout inaccurate.

Ours freezes every now and then (since new). Displays the same temperature all day even though it is obviously changing.
