2011 Chevy Cruze Eco

New Chevrolet Cruze Eco Achieves Segment-Leading 42 mpg on the Highway -- DETROIT, Nov. 11, 2010 /PRNewswire/ --

Looks like it gets LRR tires, sheds about 200 lbs, get an underbody tray and a lower grill block that pops up at highway speeds.

I think they could have done better but this is a huge step in the right direction.

Very interesting. Some of the same things that I hope to mod into my XFE in the future.
I think it is a good step in the right direction, and anytime a domestic car leads it's segment I am happy.

I'm hearing unconfirmed rumors that this 1.4 turbo engine with 6 speed manual is going to be going into the next Aveo.

I would not doubt that. I know the Cruze is taking a bit of a pounding in Europe for not being a hatchback, and that for some dumb reason there is a hatchback market here. I would not doubt them trying to bring the two closer together.

I would consider the hatchback model, but only if it had the 1.4 with the timing chain, or a 2.2 with a timing chain. Good luck maintaining the 1.8L
