Is it possible to fabricate your own CAI or is there something extra special about the pipes K&N uses?

unfortunately, the k&n intakes have been out of stock for months now, and all the sites are on backorder

Could you elaborate on what "more" means. If their is a definite improvement over something I could make then I have no problem paying the extra money.
Thanks

The difference would be minimal as long as you are eliminating the stock intake completely, and converting to a cone filter.. As long as you do it right, you would not be able to tell a difference.. Just don't go really cheap and use PVC pipe lol

Check out pep boys and auto zone. They should have everything you need. You can also order the MAF sensor adapter from uc if you can't find it anywhere else..
