Stock engine with 9:1 pistons???

I'm thinking about turbo charging my 2.2 Ecotec, but first I wanna make sure my engine can handle the boost. I wanna install Eagle connecting rods and diamond pistons with a compression ratio of 9:1.
Questions: Until I get my turbo and the tune, is it safe to run the stock engine with 9:1 pistons??
