I would suggest a better turbo but its not bad from what I hear. You'd need a manifold, downpipe and oil lines

This. 20g's are old school and are still journal bearings. Will give you more power yes, not not much better top end.

The factory evo 8-9 turbos are 20g's with a 16g turbine and compressor. What are your power goals? Tell me that and I will let you know a great turbo to go with.

20g is a Mitsubishi turbo from the older eclipses and Evo's. Great turbo, but with sport ball bearings it would be more improved. I would call Hahn direct and speak with a tech, but first gather the info on what your engine's full specs are. You need to have the right turbo for the right internals, otherwise your just defeating the purpose. I would personally gather size of your valves (intake/exhaust), bore and stroke for piston, compression ratio, size of intake runners, intake plenum size, fuel psi, camshaft lobe/lift, valve spring compression, and of most importance volumetric efficiency flow chart. Those you need in consideration for the size of your compressor and turbine wheels, the correct amount of psi running through the turbo, correct exhaust size, and an equal length turbo manifold.

08 tc stock internals are good up to 400 or so I believe. Although there are things to consider, a lot of those are somewhat irrelevant for a basic turbo upgrade to get rid of the k04. A spot on tune is going to be the best factor in an upgrade

He doesn't need to do all of that. It all depends on his power goals. Everything on his engine besides the rods can support more than 600hp. The DI injectors have plenty left in them and same with the rest of the fuel system.

Also on a side note, eclipses never came with a 20g turbo. No dsm did, even the older evos didn't. The dsms had a 14b turbo in the 1gs and a t25 in the 2gs. Evo 1s had a 14b and the 2-6 had a 16g (the EVO 3 had a big 16g, and the EVO 6.5 had a super 16g), EVO 7 had an 18g and the 8-9 have a 20g housing with a 16/18g compressor/turbine wheel.

Stock internals will handle up to 450hp and the rods start bending then but the rest is still good for more.

If I were you, get a Garret Gt2871r. Will fit your manifold from the factory, you will need a different downpipe and oil/coolant lines. That will put you at your 400hp mark and it is DBB, so it will do better top end as well as spool faster and last longer.

Or you can just get the K04 wheel upgrade and that will put you to about 380ish. Up to you tho, but I would stay away from the 20g

What DownPipe Can I Get For That And The Manifold Doesn't Need To be changed At All. Also I Was Getting Hahn Charge Piping And Intake And Would Like 3" Exhaust. Does That Fit That Turbo?
