05 Cobalt 2.4l Intake Manifold Swap?

Hey everyone I've been reading a lot of these forum's on the 2.2l intake swap to the 2.4l intake Mani but here is my problem I have an 05 cobalt Lt 2.2l what year intake can I pull the 2.4l intake off of and have it be compatible? And where can I get one there is an 07 on eBay right now but I read in another forum that the 07 intake manifolds will require drilling a precise hole of the map sensor? Can anyone shed some light on the situation?

Any 2.4 on a l61 motor will work fine for you. Do a search of junk yards (might need to call) and ask for a 05-06 2.4L off either a cobalt or an HHR (thats how I found mine). Should be relatively easy, I always suggest people to call pams auto in MN, they have a wide search they can do from many junk yards.

And welcome!!

Depends what you are looking for. I use both TB's depending on the courses I race. If you want to go fast and straight then yes you should get the 2.4 tb. If you want more torque and sacrafice some of the high end power then you can keep the stock TB and get an adapter.

keep in mind. from comparing dyno sheets, the curves change quite a bit. you do gain high rpm hp but consider what happens down low. is it worth it to be faster only when you beat on it more?

i never did the bigger manifold mod but i looked at sheets people posted. looked like a loss of power low rpm compared to stock manifold.
