How to Airbox Mod

I know there are threads with this already but I don't understand fully. My car is completely stock (underhood wise) no aftermarket filter or anything. Can someone explain how the airbox mod is done? And how it looks after so I can get a good idea of how I need to do it. Thanks. I have a 2010 cobalt 2lt I that helps

lol hell yeah! airbox mod is free, and who doesn't love that, follow that how to and you should be all set, I took my pass side headlamp out and removed it through that space. just pop the passenger headlight out and you'll see it, its a massive hunk of plastic that sorta looks like a musical instrument lol.

Got a saw?

Cut out the bottom of the factory airbox as well.

Yay, performance.

Yea I read that whole thread and there Te basically no pictures to help me out. From what I understand, I leave the airbox and just look for the silencer/resonator to take out via wheel well?

lol, yeah there really is no pictures huh?! The one picture that is in that thread is of the resonator you will remove.

Best advice:
1. Take off passanger wheel
2. Remove trim bolts inside front part of well and lip.
3. You should be able to pull back the front trim enough to see the piece that was pictured in the how to.
4. Remove said piece
5. Reinstall trim bolts and tire
6. Enjoy placebo effect of louder intake!

You'll have to take the plastic out of the wheel well to get it out that way. Thats how I did mine. And cut the bottom below the mounting brackets out, then toss a k&n in it. Then you'll be ready for the next cheap mod of the tubing. Then the cone filter. Its cheap, and prob not as pretty as an actual intake, but does some improvement.......not just the airbox mod.
