Building a Cobalt Ls

i own a 2008 cobalt ls with cold air, mid range headers 1.50 primaries and down pipes to 2.50 exhaust. so whats next, is there a build up before turbo or just jump straight into turbo, what all can i do to build performance in torque before turbo.

Difference in LAP rods and pistons?

I know it's a GenII block...but the L61 is even weaker...yes?

I'm in the process of gathering parts for a turbo build. I'm going to put everything on this year and for next build it. If you have a 2007 or later 2.2 it has the gen II block and you don't have to worry about sleeves. The rods and pistons though are just as weak and you'll need to buy at least rods pistons and head studs. It's around $1000 in parts.

Its also smart to get new timing chains and tensioners.

Head gasket

Rod bearings

Valve cover gasket

Assembly lube

Clutch

Flywheel

Intake manifold gasket

Exhaust manifold gasket

Water pump

There are more things to replace than just the weak parts when you crack it open
