Will a 2007 2.2l Engine Fit and Work in a 2005 Cobalt

i have a 2005 cobablt with 255000 on it the motor finally died and ive found a used one from a 2007 cobqlt and i wanted to make sure it will drop in and run correctly . also i found a 09 but im pretty sure thats different . thanks for the help

I believe 07 is also different due to the ignition module being in the ECM as oppose to sitting on top of the engine with the coil pack. Also believe crank sensor reluctor ring is different.

Maybe if you bring the ECM and harness from the donor car, but then you will also need the HO2 sensorsthat are different on the 07.

I know somebody here already tried this but he never came back to tell us if he succeeded.
