ZZP sells some very good header/dp combos however you like them. Primary options, 400 cell cat, 200 cell cat, no cat + wideband bungs if you so wish. I've got the midlength header and I love it.

In terms of catbacks, they're all pretty much the same. It's the mufflers that are different. eBay sells cheap stuff that will work just as well as any other brand, but they might sound a bit flat. I have a GMPP catback, and while not the cheapest, it is definatly one of the best out there imo.

Only problem with higher HP is the GMPP is only 2.25'' vs the 3'' and 2.5'' counterparts. This would only make any sort of difference when passing 300 HP though.

Which is perfect for NA and conservative SC builds, as 'drain pipe' style exhaust systems will generally rob performance.

The idea of an exhaust system is to keep it flowing the same diameter after the collector all throughout to the tail pipe. GMPP is a good one for quietness and decent performance. Borla patented the fiberglass idea first in the muffler before cherry bomb and other competitors. Borla makes one for our cobalts too, but its the same as the GMPP, since borla helped GM on that one for catback.
All catback exhaust systems for the n/a have the same 2.25" diameter, so most of us go with E-bay and just replace the muffler. I have not yet, but plan on putting a Rock-it muffler to keep the same design. Just a bit more tone to it.

For supercharged and turbo applications, 3" turbo back would be the best idea "if" you are planning on adding more boost than what OEM calls for. Otherwise, you will have too much flow and can lose power.

Buy EBay catback.

Weld on Borla Muffler or the like, so you'll have a mandrel bent 2.5" system for a quarter of the price of a full Borla/Magnaflow/GMPP system with the same gains.

Or just crack the flex pipe. Makes it loud, and screws with your acceleration.

I was gonna say take a hammer and beat that cat converter to nothing more...oh wait a second, it just makes noise and CEL's pop up. No power gains if you think they do. Sound does not equal power.
